Learn Infinote

A practical guide to writing, capturing, organising and using your notes.

Start with the page

Choose the notebook edition and writing tool for the way you work. Stone Paper Editions and EverWrite have their own material details; EverWrite is our strongest paper, waterproof and tear-resistant. Reusable-page instructions apply to supported wipe-clean editions.

The working sequence is Write → Scan → Understand → Organise → Act → Reuse. A physical page gives you a place to think. Capture it when you want a digital record, and check that record before cleaning the page.

Write, save and reuse

  1. Use compatible Pilot FriXion ink for erasable writing on supported reusable pages. Write with light pressure and let fresh ink settle.
  2. Capture the notes you want to keep. Open the saved result and check the complete page, including small writing and the edges.
  3. Lightly dampen a microfibre cloth with water. Clean one page gently, then use a dry part of the cloth to remove moisture.
  4. Wait until the page is dry before writing again or closing the notebook.

Use water for normal care. Avoid soap, oily cleaning wipes, solvents and abrasive scraping. For permanent ink or surface damage, ask support before trying a stronger cleaning method.

Heat erasing

Follow the care and erase method supplied for your specific notebook and approved pen. Save and check important notes before clearing the page.

Do not apply external heat unless the edition and pen instructions explicitly permit it. There is no universal heat-erasing temperature. Keep heat away from the power or electronic module on Energia and other electronic models.

Set up the app

Download Infinote from the iOS App Store or Google Play. Check the listing for current device requirements.

The bottom navigation is Home, Spaces, Capture, Memory and You. Home holds recent and starred notes. Spaces groups related notes. Capture starts a digital copy. Memory contains workflows for using note content. You holds setup, processing options, connected services and support.

Make a clear capture

  1. Place the page on a flat surface. Clean the camera lens and use even lighting.
  2. Open Capture, or use Capture a note on Home. Keep the full page and all writing in view.
  3. Hold the device steady. Reduce shadows, reflections and tilt rather than relying on processing to repair an unreadable image.
  4. Review the result before using it. Capture again if text is blurred, clipped or faint.

Infinote supports ordinary handwritten and printed pages; special notebook codes are not required to begin scanning. A scan preserves the image. Recognition produces text from that image, so check both when details matter.

Choose how text is recognised

In You, open How Infinote reads and Text Recognition. On-Device Recognition is shown as free and offline. Cloud Recognition offers enhanced processing for complex pages and languages and uses credits.

Read the current processing information in the app before choosing cloud recognition. Sample balances in screenshots do not define a universal allowance. Capture preferences covers file naming, save location, quality and format.

Recognition can make mistakes. Compare names, numbers, dates and important instructions with the original page before sharing or taking action.

Organise a working library

Use Home → Recent for your latest notes and Home → Starred for saved favourites. In Spaces, create a place for a project, subject, client or personal context. Use names that will still make sense when you return later.

Spaces displays pinned areas and Sort A–Z. A simple structure might keep one active project separate from general work notes and personal writing. The goal is a library you can understand quickly, rather than a new category for every page.

Find a note by word or meaning

Search recognised text when you remember a particular word or phrase. If it is missing, inspect the image and recognition result rather than assuming the original note disappeared.

Semantic Search is under You → How Infinote finds. It is designed to find related notes by meaning when the wording is difficult to remember. Complete the model download shown in setup before using the supported local option.

For a missing note, check Recent, Starred and the relevant Space, then confirm the expected account. Contact support before clearing app data or reinstalling.

Work with the content

  1. Open Memory and choose Create summary.
  2. Start with a scan, an existing note or pasted text.
  3. Review the result against the original source, especially decisions, responsibilities and dates.

Ask Notes retrieves relevant passages from your notes and uses the selected intelligence to answer a natural-language question. Where scope choices are available, focus on the library, a Space or selected notes. Review the answer against its source; generated information remains separate from the original page.

Choose the intelligence for the task

Intelligence options
Option Processing Setup
Private Intelligence Supported workflows on-device and offline Model download
Built-in Intelligence On-device No additional model download
Cloud Intelligence Cloud-powered Internet connection

Default Intelligence sets the general preference. Per-feature Intelligence lets you review different choices for specific workflows. Check the selection for the feature you are using; one on-device option does not mean every connected service or process works offline.

Manage Downloads in You contains intelligence and on-device models. Download what is required before expecting a supported local workflow to run without a connection.

Prepare a meeting or reminder

Memory includes Meetings and Reminders. Meeting workflows can turn note content into a draft; review the date, time, title and agenda before saving or sharing it.

Calendars & meetings shows Apple Calendar, Google Calendar and Microsoft Teams. Follow the connection prompts for your account. The app also offers calendar connection when creating a meeting.

For reminders, check the date, time and relevant permissions. If an alert does not appear, record the device, app version and what happened so support can investigate the specific workflow.

Connect a destination

In You → Where Infinote sends, choose Set up destinations. Destination options include Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive, OneNote, Box and email, depending on platform and version.

  1. Select the service and use its connection prompt.
  2. Check which account is being connected, especially when you have personal and work accounts.
  3. Read any authorisation message. An organisation may restrict access for a work or school account.
  4. After sending a note, verify the intended destination and file.

Sending creates a copy; the original stays in Infinote. Export formats can include PDF and JPEG, with multi-page output where supported. Destination copies are not two-way synchronisation or a complete library backup. Keep the digital record you need before clearing a reusable page.

Keep the next task in view

Pomodoro provides focused intervals, while Stopwatch lets you time a session without that interval structure. Add Focus Note keeps the work context alongside a session.

The Eisenhower Matrix groups tasks by urgency and importance: urgent and important; important but not urgent; urgent but not important; and neither. Use it to decide what needs attention rather than treating every note as equally urgent.

Countdown holds upcoming dates and the remaining days. Use its add control for a date you want to keep in view.

Review privacy and permissions

Open You → Privacy & Security or App Permissions. Review the permission related to the action you need, such as camera access for capture.

On-device recognition and intelligence choices differ from cloud processing and external destinations. Check both the feature selection and any service connection. Cloud processing sends relevant information for remote processing; supported local processing does not require an external generative provider for that operation. The intended architecture keeps those choices distinct without silent cloud fallback.

Before sharing a support screenshot, remove private writing and account details. Do not send passwords, payment information or one-time codes.
